The name "Twister Ridge" may not make a lot of sense to everybody, especially to those who know what I do.  It has nothing to do with tornados or the building of cigarettes.  The word "Twister" is an old cowboy term for a horse trainer.  It comes from the twisting motion a horse makes when he's trying' to buck off his rider.  Of course we don't train horses that way.  It's a really bad way to teach a horse anything, but it's a really good way to get hurt.  Just thinkin' ababout it drains the macho right outa me.  I'd like to modernize the term and change it to twisting, as in, lounging and other methods of working a horse in a circular pattern.  The purpose being, to "twist" it into the horse you want it to be.  The "Ridge" part is pretty simple.  I live and do my work on a ridge above Lake Freeman.
